I just watched a video about visualization. I have followed the teachers of the movie, The Secret, for years and have read and watched a lot about the Law of Attraction and the impact of visualization. I have stepped away from these teachings as I began to read the Bible and about the power of God.
Today, I had an epiphany. As I was listening to the conversation about the steps in visualization, I realized they echoed my research on having prayers answered. I had assumed, up to this point, that these two arenas were on somewhat opposing teams. I believed Law of Attraction was dependence on self and religion was reliance on God. Yet, this instruction was eerily similar to what I had read in the Bible.
My research revealed that to have your prayers answered you have to believe that they could be answered. In Matthew 21:21,22: Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” The teachers of The Secret explain that you have to see it in your mind and experience it as if it has already come to pass for you to reach your goals. You have to BELIEVE!
If, for us to believe without any doubt that it can be done, we need to visualize it and experience it as if it has come to pass, doesn’t this show these ideas to be equal not opposing? Just by changing the wording from universe to God and visualizing to believing in The Secret we can see the similarities between the ancient wisdom of the Bible and new age theories in Quantum physics. It is just repackaging.
I have decided that I am going to test my theory and now when I pray I am going to spend a few moments visualizing the prayer answered. I am going to remove doubt in my mind by experiencing the results immediately. I am not reliant on self, but on God who is my “universe”. I have prayers that I thought were unanswerable because reality dictates that there is no pathway between now and my wish for the future. I have confidence that if I ask God and work on the believing through visualization, I am going to take reality out of the equation along with the lack of faith. I am going to do what the scripture says and just believe.
Many of you may have already made this mental leap and you are wondering what took me so long. I just did not have the right facts in the proper order to see what power there was in visualization to bring me to the point of 100% buy-in of the wanted result. I just think that this is so cool and I needed to share. Of course it makes sense that as the creator of the universe, God would be behind these new revelations of Quantum physics.
People around the world are struggling with their faith because their prayers have seemingly gone unanswered. This may be one link they are missing. I know I was. Definitely going to weave this into The Promise. There are other rules I have uncovered for prayer that come into play but belief and faith are the cornerstones. Visualization is one activity that can strengthen both.
So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17: 20(NKJV)
I pray that you have a week full of blessings and answered prayers.
