It is the first day of a new year and for some of us that means slamming the door on a year that did not serve us well. I have had many New Year’s Eves counting down to kick the door shut on a year I would prefer to forget.
Not last night.
2016 starting off a little rough and a little slow and then BAM!
What a year!
On the GO train back from Toronto last night I was looking through the pictures on my husband’s phone. The album was filled with amazing experiences and I cannot count the number of times I said, “I forgot we did that.”
Forgot we did that? What???
That is not because I am old and just can’t remember. It was because there was too much to remember. On an almost weekly basis we did something exciting.
I am not writing this to make you feel bad if 2016 wasn’t a great year for you. I am writing this to show how powerful intentions are.
I intended on January 1, 2016 to have a year filled with amazing experiences. Then, I planned things. I took action. And, things happened.
So if you slammed the door on 2016 like I did on 2015, set your intentions that you are going to make 2017 amazing. Make a list, plan how to make it all happen and then take action.
I am not saying it is easy. I am not saying things are going to happen that you didn’t plan, didn’t want, and didn’t enjoy. All of that was part of my 2016. I want to remember the challenges I faced because they made me stronger. It takes the hard stuff to make you better, to make you mighty, and to help you appreciate when the amazing stuff happens.
But, what I could control I did. What I could plan and execute I did.
I am grateful for everything that happened in 2016 and I plan on using all of these experiences as a springboard to an even better 2017.
I hope and pray that you do the same as we have 365 opportunities ahead of us!
Make them count!
May your 2017 be filled with love, laughter, health, wealth, and good, old-fashioned fun!
It is my intention for 2017!
The plan is in place and action sequence has been started.
Can’t you feel it?
It is going to be a great year!!!!
All the best to you and yours!
